The Pearl River Project

Building 180

Manufacturing, Lab and Office Space

Originally named the “Toxicology R&D Building”, Building 180 was designed specifically for Toxicology studies on pharmaceutical entities under development. Toxicology laboratories and offices were on Level 2, a Vivarium occupied most of Level 1, and an interstitial space existed between Levels 1 and llll2 with mechanical equipment and access to the HVAC system. Mechanical equipment also existed in the Penthouse and on Level 1. In the mid-1990s, the entire Toxicology program was relocated to Chazy, NY. The Vaccines manufacturing division took ownership of Building 180 and renovated the building to accommodate Vaccines R&D. The Vivarium on Level 1 was retained to support the Vaccines R&D laboratories on Level 2. Eventually, the Vaccines manufacturing division turned-over ownership of the building to R&D.
